QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 20 years of experience in engineering and project execution.
  • Proven experience leading large capital projects ($100MM+ TIC).
  • Strong background in infrastructure, energy, or industrial project delivery.
  • Experience working on both owner-side and consulting/EPCM projects.
  • Proficient in project management tools including MS Project and MS Office.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards (e.g., CSA Z662, ASME B31.3).

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with pipeline, pump station, or liquids infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with Western Canadian project execution and regulatory environments.
  • Prior leadership experience with multidisciplinary project teams.
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Senior Project Director is accountable for successfully executing a major, multi-year infrastructure program. This role will provide strategic oversight and direction across all project development and delivery phases. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with extensive experience managing large capital projects in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
This position is based in Calgary and will require close collaboration with internal teams, external stakeholders, and client representatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the execution of a significant capital project, from initiation through close-out.
  • Oversee project teams, including project managers, engineers, and technical staff.
  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, schedules, and reporting.
  • Act as the senior point of contact for client engagement and stakeholder communication.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Support the professional development of staff through mentorship and leadership.
  • Ensure alignment with corporate and client expectations across all deliverables.
