THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for a Senior Director of Engineering to lead the teams that build and scale Koalafi’s customer and merchant-facing platforms. In this highly visible and strategic role, you’ll drive the engineering roadmap and execution for a portfolio that includes:

• Our Consumer Portal and mobile apps (iOS and Android native)
• Servicing capabilities such as self-service tools and payment workflows
• The Merchant Portal used by our retail partners
• Our Salesforce ecosystem powering internal sales and operations workflows

You will play a critical leadership role in shaping the evolution of Koalafi’s hybrid architecture—balancing the stability of our existing monoliths with the flexibility of our growing network of microservices. This role combines long-term platform strategy with near-term product delivery, all in support of an exceptional user experience.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Lead and support multiple engineering teams spanning backend, frontend, mobile, and Salesforce development.
• Own the execution strategy across a blended architecture of legacy monoliths and numerous microservices, guiding pragmatic modernization where needed.
• Drive the evolution and delivery of web, mobile, and servicing platforms built on technologies like Golang, Node.js, React, Kubernetes, and serverless AWS infrastructure.
• Partner cross-functionally to deliver cohesive customer and partner experiences, from initial application to ongoing servicing and support.
• Scale our native iOS and Android apps, ensuring performance, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Invest in engineering excellence—test automation, CI/CD, observability, and operational rigor.
• Coach and develop engineering leaders and senior ICs, helping them grow in impact and ownership.
• Serve as a key contributor to strategic planning, product direction, and organizational design.
