  Senior Director of Finance Job Description White Horse Village is an active senior living community offering a full range of living options and healthcare services. The primary purpose of the Senior Director of Finance position is to take a leadership role in finance department projects while setting direction for team members for WHV in the area of financial accounting and reporting. In connection with the VP of Finance, administers and implements established plans and overall policies and goals for the Finance department and sets the tone and maintains a positive working environment for the department in accordance with our core values.  It is anticipated this position will support or develop a plan to support organizational growth initiatives to include but not limited to expanded or new service lines, partnerships and other opportunities that are identified.    Professional Qualifications: This position is an extraordinary opportunity for a mature leader with seven to ten years of accounting and finance experience, ideally in the nonprofit sector. The candidate will ideally have experience gathering, evaluating, presenting, and reporting financial information to executive teams and boards. •    Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration or major in Accounting or related field. •    CPA preferred. •    Minimum of five years’ experience managing an Accounting team and at least seven years’ total experience in accounting/finance. •    Healthcare, Senior Living, Life Plan Community and/or non-profit experience is preferred but not required. •    Experience with monthly close process, budgeting and auditing are required. •    Must have demonstrated ability to apply sound accounting and business principles and organize and manage multiple deliverables, deadlines, and priorities in a fluid environment. •    Excellent organizational skills. •    Outstanding communication abilities •    Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time efficiently.  •    Able to build strong interpersonal relationships with leadership team members.  •    Ability to be a “big picture” thinker.  •    Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions.   Leadership: Models the mission statement so that it is clearly understood and emulated by all team members. Acts as a role model and resource for all team members to work safely and effectively. Abides by White Horse Village’s Code of Conduct in the performance of their duties and completion of required compliance training. Supports and fosters an environment focused on growing others and person-centered decision-making.   Administrative Functions: Assist developing, implementing, and maintaining an annual review of policies and procedures for the day-to-day operations of the department(s). Completes all appropriate reports and paperwork as required. Ensures department(s) are in regulatory compliance. Volunteers to serve on committees and/or participates when designated.   Human Resources: Ensures compliance with local, state and federal hiring requirements. Ensures that White Horse Village is a place where all safety practices are maintained.   Communications: Maintains positive communications within the department. Facilitates positive communications inter-departmentally. Attends and actively participates in required meetings. Produces written communication that is clear and concise. Maintain confidentiality of resident and White Horse Village business issues.   Budget: Develops an accurate annual budget for areas of oversight. Provides for the capital needs of the community through input to the capital budget. Monitors spending to ensure conformance with budget projections. Allocates appropriate resources to department(s) to assure efficient and effective implementation of departmental activities.
