POSITION OVERVIEW

Phronetik is seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Director of IT to lead our technology strategy, enterprise infrastructure, and cybersecurity initiatives. This is a highly visible and critical leadership role reporting directly to the CEO. The Director will oversee IT operations across federal and private sector initiatives, ensure compliance with government and healthcare regulations, and lead product development teams responsible for Phronetik’s proprietary technologies.
The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in IT leadership, cloud computing, and cybersecurity within regulated environments, with specific expertise in CMMC, NIST 800-171, FedRAMP, HIPAA, and Azure Government Cloud. The role requires exceptional vendor management skills, strong program and project leadership, and the ability to align IT strategy with Phronetik’s mission at the intersection of precision medicine, biomedical research, and federal contracting.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This is a remote-first position, with infrequent travel as required to meet with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Minimal travel may be required for training, stakeholder meetings, or audits.

Responsibilities
  • IT Strategy & Leadership
  • Develop and execute Phronetik’s IT roadmap to support research, clinical, and operational goals across federal and private sector initiatives.
  • Oversee IT governance, risk management, and compliance with HIPAA, FedRAMP, CMMC, NIST 800-171, and other relevant regulations.
  • Provide strategic leadership for product development, ensuring proprietary platforms are secure, scalable, and aligned with organizational strategy.
  • Lead cross-functional IT programs and projects, ensuring cost, schedule, and performance objectives are consistently met.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, program managers, and research teams to align IT initiatives with organizational objectives.
  • Infrastructure & Security Management
  • Manage and optimize Azure Government Cloud and other secure cloud-based solutions, including integration with LabWare LIMS and research informatics platforms.
  • Establish and enforce cybersecurity best practices, ensuring protection of sensitive government, clinical, and research data.
  • Maintain enterprise IT systems, network security, and access controls for a distributed, hybrid workforce.
  • Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • IT Operations & Support
  • Direct IT service management, ensuring responsive help desk and technical support for employees and program teams.
  • M Manage vendor relationships, software licensing, procurement, and contract negotiations to maximize value and compliance.
  • Implement automation, AI-driven analytics, and scalable solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Oversee secure deployment and maintenance of telehealth platforms, including HIPAA-compliant Microsoft Teams.
  • Product Development Oversight
  • Lead and mentor teams of product managers, software engineers, data scientists, and bioinformatics specialists developing Phronetik’s proprietary technologies.
  • Ensure adherence to security, regulatory, and quality requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Drive innovation in precision medicine, AI, and data-driven healthcare solutions through agile product development practices.
  • Collaboration & Innovation
  • Partner with federal agencies, research institutions, and private sector clients to ensure IT systems support mission objectives.
  • Lead IT support for federal contracts, ensuring compliance with DCAA, DCMA, and federal cybersecurity standards.
  • Collaborate with clinical, research, and informatics teams to support AI-driven analytics, interoperability, and data science integration.
  • Guide the integration of IT systems with iConcordia and iHarmony-Seq for real-time genomic and clinical insights.
