King Street Center, a cornerstone of youth and family support in Burlington, VT, is seeking a Senior Director of Philanthropy to build and grow a dynamic, sustainable fundraising and communications program that matches the scale of our dreams. As we expand our impact and reimagine what’s possible for children and families, this new leader will be at the heart of it all—crafting the strategy, coaching a talented team, and cultivating a vibrant donor community that believes in our future.

POSITION SUMMARY

This is a unique opportunity to shape and scale a development program for the next era of King Street’s growth. We are not seeking someone to run a well-oiled machine—we are seeking someone to build it. The Senior Director of Philanthropy will work closely with the Executive Director and Board to design and execute a multi-year strategy for increasing donor revenue, expanding our donor base, and strengthening the communications that connect our community to our mission.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 10 years in fundraising, nonprofit leadership, or related roles. Experience with fundraising for a $5 mil + organization preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years supervising a development team of at least 3 people, including director-level team members.
  • Demonstrated success growing a development program and scaling a team.
  • Experience managing major gifts, grants, and communications.
  • Familiarity with youth development or community-based organizations preferred.
  • Strategic planning, execution, team leadership, and capital campaign experience.
