Ascend is a network of K-12 charter schools serving over 5,000 students across Central Brooklyn. Our mission is to lead students on a great intellectual journey through exceptional education that prepares them for a life of boundless choice.
As Ascend continues to grow in size and complexity, we are seeking a visionary and strategic Senior Director of Procurement to lead all procurement and strategic sourcing activities that ensure sustainability, operational efficiency, and mission-aligned resource allocation. This leader will set the direction for how Ascend purchases goods and services, manages a multi-million-dollar spend portfolio, and delivers measurable value through cost savings, vendor excellence, and operational optimization.
This is a high-impact role that requires exceptional strategic vision, operational expertise, and the ability to partner with executives and senior leaders to ensure procurement practices directly advance Ascend’s mission.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of progressive procurement leadership experience, preferably within a complex, multi-site, or educational organization.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale sourcing strategies and negotiating multi-million-dollar contracts.
• Strong understanding of procurement regulations, compliance, and contract law.
• Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives, boards, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CPSM, CPP) preferred.
