We are seeking a Senior Director of Qualification and Test Engineering to develop, test, and qualify leading technology solutions for the Cloud. You will partner with outstanding suppliers, technology partners, and Azure Engineering teams across Microsoft to develop and qualify innovative hardware Cloud infrastructure that can perform complex and high-performance functions in the most efficient manner for a wide range of workloads.
Successful candidate will have experience managing and leading hardware and software engineering teams with a proven track record of delivering leading edge technology infrastructure combined with business acumen, organizational skills, culture and change management experience with the ability to execute in a fast-paced environment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 11+ years technical engineering experience
• OR Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 9+ years technical engineering experience
• OR equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience managing engineering teams with technical management, program management, and cross-group collaboration skills.
• 2+ years preferred experience with cloud and/or product development, integration, and test.

Other Requirements:

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening reqirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience leading and managing a large-scale development, test and qualification team.
• Intellectual curiosity and a passion for both learning and deploying new technologies, as well as qualification and test.
• Experience with memory development and qualification preferred.Experience with software automation for test of large-scale distributed systems and datacenter infrastructure for compute, storage, and Al GPU applications.
• Experience managing complex partner engagement and leading engineering collaboration.Demonstrated ability to achieve results, create a high-performing, healthy and scalable organization.Ability to apply a variety of strategic frameworks to analyze problems and guide solutions.
• Ability to effectively communicate with executives and technology leaders inside and outside of Microsoft.
  Hardware Engineering M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $161,600 - $286,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $209,600 - $314,400 per year.

• Collaboration and Communication: Foster great partnerships with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth collaboration throughout the product development lifecycle. Effectively communicate project updates, technical insights, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
• Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting innovation, implementing engineering best practices, and driving efficiency initiatives. Encourage the use of data analysis techniques to enhance the design process and optimize performance.
• Vendor Management: Evaluate and select external vendors and suppliers for test and qualification services. Build and maintain great relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery, quality control, and cost-effective solutions.
