Description Senior Director of Training & Instructional Development Reports To: Executive Director of Education Location: Hybrid - travel to school locations required weekly Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role The Senior Director of Training & Instructional Development provides strategic leadership for the design, implementation, and evaluation of professional learning across the organization. This role focuses on strengthening instructional practice, supporting employee growth, and improving staff retention through high-quality onboarding, ongoing training, and professional development systems. The Senior Director of Training & Instructional Development ensures that all training initiatives align with Montessori philosophy, best practices in early childhood education, and organizational goals while supporting educators at all stages of their professional journey. Some of the Key Responsibilities Training & Professional Development Design and implement professional learning opportunities aligned with Montessori philosophy and early childhood best practices. Develop and oversee an organization-wide professional learning framework for staff at all experience levels. Onboarding & Teacher Development Create onboarding programs for teachers new to Montessori education. Develop a structured 12-month training plan for new teachers and teaching assistants to support instructional growth and classroom management. Professional Development Days Plan and facilitate four annual professional development days focused on curriculum implementation, Montessori pedagogy, and instructional consistency. Training Evaluation Measure training effectiveness through staff feedback, retention data, and performance outcomes, and refine programs accordingly. Digital Learning Resources Develop and manage a virtual training platform that houses professional learning resources for staff. Collaboration & Leadership Partner with school leaders and education leadership to support instructional quality, staff development, and retention strategies. Requirements Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Montessori Education, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Montessori Education, Special Education, or a related field is preferred. Montessori certification at the Early Childhood level (AMS, AMI, NAMC or equivalent) is required. Minimum of 10 years in Early Childhood Education. At least 5 years of experience as a supervisor. Deep understanding of the Montessori philosophy and methods. Strong mentorship and communication skills. Experience with educational technology and administrative tools (e.g., ProCare, Salesforce, Vector, etc.). Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills to engage with staff, parents, and the broader community.
