We are seeking a Senior Director of Retail & Commerce Strategy to be responsible for shaping and executing MingruveMacarta’s retail and commerce strategy. This leadership role will report directly to the VP, Retail & Commerce to oversee the Brand Management and Retail Media teams. This person will be responsible for developing and driving a connected retail commerce strategy across our clients’ businesses. This involves ensuring that brand & business strategy, retail media efforts, and marketplace management are seamlessly integrated to drive growth across both traditional retail and e-commerce platforms, including marketplaces like Amazon, Walmart, Target, Chewy, and other global retail channels. This role will lead the teams to ensure that all commerce strategies are aligned, delivering innovative solutions that maximize performance and brand presence.

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary: $155,000 - $175,000/year (commensurate with experience and geographic location)
  • Annual Bonus: TBD
    Compensation will be commensurate with experience. Our headquarters is based in San Diego, California, with additional offices in Covington, Kentucky and Denver, Colorado. We’re seeking local candidates (or those open to relocation) who are able to work collaboratively with us in one of our office’s; however, based on business needs and unique job functions, some roles may be eligible for remote work. Responsibilities

Strategic Management:

  • Help guide the development and execution of MingruveMacarta’s connected commerce strategy across all retail and marketplace channels.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership to ensure commerce strategies align with overall business goals and client objectives.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends, market shifts, and innovations in retail and e-commerce to ensure that strategies remain ahead of the curve.

Brand Management and Retail Media Strategy:

  • Assist the Brand Management and Retail Media teams in developing cohesive, integrated strategies that connect brand, media, operations and commerce across all touchpoints of the buyer journey.
  • Collaborate with both teams to ensure brand positioning, inventory, account health, and marketing campaigns are optimized for digital and physical retail environments.
  • Support the creation of brand assets for retail and digital media, ensuring consistency and effectiveness in driving consumer engagement and sales.

Marketplace Management:

  • Lead efforts in helping clients optimize their marketplace presence, particularly on Amazon, Walmart, Target and other global platforms, to drive visibility and sales.
  • Assist clients and work cross functionally with internal teams in developing effective product listings, advertising strategies, and pricing models tailored to marketplace dynamics.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure that supply chain, inventory management, and fulfillment processes align with the requirements of each individual marketplace platform.

Retail Media Strategy:

  • Support the Retail Media team in developing data-driven media strategies to increase revenue, enhance customer acquisition, and optimize media spends across retail and marketplace channels.
  • Guide the integration of media strategies into broader commerce plans, ensuring that media spend and content strategies deliver measurable ROI across all retail channels.

Team Collaboration & Development:

  • Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation between the Brand Management, Marketplace Operations, Creative and Retail Media teams, ensuring seamless communication and alignment of goals.
  • Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to team members, helping them drive performance and execute connected commerce strategies effectively.
  • Support the professional development of teams, offering opportunities for growth and skills development.

Client & Stakeholder Management:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor for key clients, offering strategic recommendations on connected commerce strategies that drive business growth across retail and e-commerce.
  • Present insights, strategies, and performance metrics to clients, senior leadership, and other key stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both clients and retail partners, ensuring collaboration on go-to-market initiatives.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead the charge in identifying new opportunities in connected commerce, retail media and global marketplaces, exploring new tools, technologies, and platforms that can enhance the effectiveness of client strategies.
  • Work cross-functionally with technology, creative, and operations teams to integrate new solutions and capabilities into client strategies, ensuring constant innovation and optimization.
