Senior Director – Sponsor & Strategic Partnerships (BES)
Location:

What you’ll do:

As a Senior Director Sponsor and Strategic Partnerships you’ll work closely with business development officers to convert opportunities into closed business for our Business Escrow Services and M&A specialty service offerings. In this role, you’ll play a key role in shaping, launching, and executing a new vertical - Sponsor Solutions - geared toward the private equity market. You’ll collaborate across executive leadership, legal, finance, and operational teams to identify, evaluate, and execute growth opportunities.

  • Drive new business conversions in partnership with business development officers. Maintain a complete, current undestanding of all client-facing product features. Leverage internal leads to demonstrate product capabilities, deliver education, and increase adoption among external audiences. Act as the lead subject matter expert to inform and launch Sponsor Solutions as the premier solution for Private Equity M&A. Coordinate and locate internal cross-sale opportunities within the bank related to futher penetration of Western Alliance’s product in the M&A market.
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with relationship managers, technology teams, and sales colleagues. Develop and deliver sales demonstrations, contribute to marketing initiatives in partnership with senior leaders, and ensure seamless transitions for clients adopting new business technologies. Meet regularly with clients to discuss and expand existing account relationships, introducing new products and services as appropriate.
  • Manage client engagement through marketing events, sponsorhsips, or business development events. Provide examplary customer service with a focus on client retention. Field client calls, troubleshoot engagement or transactional questions, and resolve issues directly with clients. Structure fee schedules and proposals for clients and maintain a client list with traction within CRM. Research and diagnose the root cause of client issues generally, to provide and inform additional products and services or solutions.
  • Proactively contact existing clients to deepen their understanding of available resources and their ability to effectively use our products and transaction features. Join sales team members for sales pitches or lead sales pitches involving Business Escrow Services technology solutions. Demonstrate strong problem-solving, functional expertise, communication skills, and technical knowldge in support of successful client outcomes. Increase brand awareness and deliver thought leadership through client education events and industry conferences. May attend and exhibit at trade shows within the target marketplace.

What you’ll need:

  • 10+ years of related experience in M&A or similar field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
  • Advanced to expert knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
  • Advanced to expert knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Expert understanding of legal, financial, and oeprational aspects of dealmaking. Preferred Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal training or prior experience in private equity deal execution.
  • Expert negotiation, relationship management, and communication skills.
  • Expert speaking and writing communication skills.
  • May require up to 25% travel.
