Description
Purpose Reporting to the President, the Senior Director of Supply Chain & Procurement will lead end-to-end supply chain operations for Select Food Products Inc., a Toronto-based food manufacturer producing sauces for food service and CPG customers. This role oversees planning, procurement, production scheduling, inventory management, warehouse operations and logistics. The successful candidate will ensure operational excellence, cost optimization, and compliance with food safety standards while driving strategic initiatives to support growth and profitability.   Responsibilities  1. Planning and Forecasting 1. Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to align production plans with customer demand and improve Supply Planning to reduce costs and improve service. 2. Ensure accurate forecasting and collaboration across commercial, operations, and finance teams. 2. Production & Supply Planning Coordination 1. Align supply plans with manufacturing capabilities to ensure uninterrupted production while reducing labour costs. 2. Minimize shortages, excess inventory, and changeovers through effective scheduling. 3. Inventory Management and Optimization 1. Oversee raw material, packaging, WIP, and finished goods inventory. 2. Balance service levels with working capital targets and shelf-life constraints. 4. Warehouse & Distribution Operations 1. Manage warehouse operations including storage, picking, shipping, and inventory accuracy and reduce overall warehouse costs. 2. Ensure efficient product flow and compliance with food safety standards. 5. Logistics and Transportation Management 1. Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, freight contracts, and carrier performance. 2. Reduce freight and redistribution costs through JIT principles and planning and material management 3. Control transportation costs while maintaining delivery performance. 6. Food Safety and Quality 1. Ensure all supply chain activities comply with food safety, traceability, and regulatory requirements. 7. Cost Control & Working Capital 1. Drive cost reduction initiatives across purchasing, logistics, and inventory. 2. Improve cash flow and inventory turns through strategic planning and execution. 8. Performance Measurement & Continuous Improvement 1. Establish and monitor KPIs such as Case Fill Rate, Inventory Turns, Forecast Accuracy, Losses and Supplier Performance. 2. Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain. 9. Procurement and Supplier Management 1. Manage procurement of ingredients, packaging, and indirect materials. 2. Negotiate contracts and pricing while ensuring supplier quality, reliability, and food safety compliance. 10. Leadership 1. As a member of the Enterprise Leadership Team, actively participate in shaping the business strategy, Annual Operating Plan and culture at Select 2. Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. 3. Build and develop high-performing teams by recruiting, training, and retaining top talent. 4. Foster cross-functional collaboration and communication to drive synergy and alignment across departments. 5. Set clear goals, expectations, and performance metrics for team members and evaluate their performance regularly. 6. Facilitate team communication of strategy, ELT decisions, business performance  7. Ensure and role model compliance with Company policies, and ethical standards   Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field * 15+ years of progressive experience in supply chain and procurement leadership roles within food manufacturing or CPG * Proven experience in ERP, MRP / WMS and S&OP transformation * Strong negotiation skills and cost reduction track record * Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills * Ability to communicate, influence, persuade and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders * Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make strategic recommendations
