QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:

  • HNC/Degree in Chemistry or related field; experience in the waste industry and SAP is desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • FLT licence and willingness to work hands-on in outdoor, hazardous environments.
  • Strong communicator with leadership ability, decision-making based on data, and a commitment to team development.
Responsibilities

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE:

Support the Acceptance, Treatment, and TFS teams to ensure compliant and efficient disposal of all hazardous and non-hazardous waste in line with regulations and site procedures.

MAIN DUTIES:

  • Ensure all waste has correct paperwork and is stored, labelled, and processed in line with regulations and site permits.
  • Complete safety checks, sampling, and inspections to support compliant waste handling and disposal.
  • Record waste movements, dispatches, and non-conformances accurately using SAP.
  • Support cost-effective, legal routing of waste for disposal.
  • Assist with waste processing (e.g. bulking, sorting, repacking) and maintain a clean work area.
  • Provide technical support to colleagues and complete required documentation.
  • Act as a site first aider (once trained) and assist other teams as needed.
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies, reporting concerns and promoting safe practices.
