Position Overview
We’re looking for a detail-oriented, tech-savvy Document Remediation Technician who is passionate about digital accessibility and compliance. This role involves reviewing and remediating documents to meet accessibility standards, ensuring that all materials are usable by individuals with diverse abilities. You’ll play a vital role in helping organizations meet accessibility requirements while improving the overall user experience of digital content.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Completion of college or university studies; graduate students are welcome to apply.
  • A minimum of 2 years of document remediation is required.
  • Thorough understanding of PDF/UA and WCAG tagging standards and accessibility principles.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Previous experience with document remediation and screen reader testing
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven time management skills and ability to meet deadlines independently.
  • High level of attention to detail, technical aptitude, and ability to interpret complex instructions.
  • Team player who thrives in a remote work environment and contributes to a collaborative team culture.
Responsibilities
  • Remediate and thoroughly review PDF, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents to ensure compliance with PDF/UA, WCAG, and company-specific standards.
  • Conduct accessibility testing using tools such as PAC 2021, Adobe Acrobat Checker, and others.
  • Interpret and follow client-specific instructions for remediation projects with high attention to detail.
  • Efficiently document and update activities in the internal production system and correctly move documents through workflow phases.
  • Provide status updates to supervisors and communicate any challenges regarding timelines or complexity.
  • Collaborate with other technicians on large team-based contracts and participate in cross-functional quality control efforts.
  • Use file comments and online communication tools to flag issues and incorporate feedback from the Quality Control team.
  • Perform follow-up adjustments as required and document improvements based on QC feedback.
  • Remain adaptable and take on additional duties as needed in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
