Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent the Senior Drill & Blast Engineer is responsive for ensuring the effective completion of all drill and blast plans consistent to short-term mine planning activities for day-to-day pit operations, including scheduling, reconciliation, reporting, conduct of meetings and supervision of graduate and Drill & Blast Engineers. Critical to this role is also to undertake drill and blast design improvements that will minimise ore dilution, reduce wall damages, reduce cost, and improve productivity while at the same time providing sufficient blasted stocks for digging. Adherence to all statutory requirements and Company Safety, Health and Environmental standards and procedures is paramount to this role. Location: Hidden Valley Mine, Papua New Guinea Roster: 16 days on / 12 days off (FIFO)
Responsibilities
The Senior Drill & Blast Engineer is responsible for ensuring the effective completion of drill and blast plans for daily pit operations. This includes scheduling, reporting, and supervising other engineers while improving design to minimize ore dilution and reduce costs.
