Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Drilling Engineer to join our dynamic team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this key role, you will be responsible for the planning, design, and execution of drilling operations across both offshore and onshore projects. Key Responsibilities Develop and optimize drilling programs and well designs to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout all phases of well construction Analyze and interpret geological and geophysical data to support strategic drilling decisions Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex drilling challenges and drive innovative solutions Conduct risk assessments and create contingency plans for potential operational issues Monitor and evaluate drilling performance, recommending improvements to reduce non-productive time (NPT) Ensure full compliance with company policies, industry standards, and local regulations Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for management and stakeholders Mentor and train junior drilling engineers to support their professional growth Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field (Master’s degree preferred) Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification 8–10 years of experience in drilling engineering, including offshore and onshore operations Languages: English (mandatory); French is a strong added value Advanced knowledge of drilling engineering principles and best practices Proficiency with drilling software, simulation tools, and modeling systems Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Excellent project management skills Effective communication and interpersonal abilities Deep understanding of drilling technologies, rig equipment, and downhole tools Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements Thorough understanding of well control and HSE procedures Proven track record in well planning, design, and successful execution Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and organizational skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Willingness to travel to various project sites when required Additional Information Rotation 4x4 Starting date : asap Duration of the mission : 9 months renewables
