As a Senior DSP/Wireless Communications Engineer, you will be at the heart of this innovation. You will research, design, model, and validate advanced Physical Layer (PHY) and lower-MAC algorithms that define the performance and capabilities of our novel communication links. This includes exploring and integrating advanced techniques, potentially including machine learning, to solve complex wireless challenges. REQUIREMENTS
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Telecommunications with a strong specialization in wireless communications, signal processing, or information theory.
- Deep theoretical understanding and extensive practical experience in designing and simulating wireless communication physical layer algorithms.
- Expertise in several of the following areas:
- OFDM and advanced multicarrier techniques.
- MIMO systems: Spatial multiplexing, STBC, beamforming, interference alignment/cancellation.
- Channel Estimation and Equalization: Advanced techniques for time-varying and frequency-selective channels.
- Synchronization: Robust timing, frequency, and phase synchronization methods.
- Channel Coding Theory: Strong understanding of LDPC, Turbo Codes, Polar Codes, Viterbi algorithm (design principles, performance analysis).
- Adaptive Signal Processing: Adaptive filtering, link adaptation (AMC).
- Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python is essential for algorithm development, system modelling, simulation, and data analysis.
- Demonstrable experience in applying or researching Machine Learning techniques for wireless communication problems is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of radio propagation, channel models, RF impairments, and their impact on algorithm design.
- Familiarity with lower-MAC layer protocols and cross-layer optimization concepts.
- Experience with communication system performance analysis and defining key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Knowledge of FPGA/ASIC design flows and hardware implementation considerations is beneficial for effective collaboration with implementation teams.
- Experience with Software Defined Radio (SDR) platforms (e.g., USRP) and GNU Radio for algorithm prototyping and experimental validation is a plus.
