Job Title: Senior Explosives and Prohibited Weapons Regulatory Approval Specialist Location: Warton– We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role. Salary: £54,793 + Depending on experience What you’ll be doing Maintain essential explosives and weapons licences to ensure uninterrupted Air Sector operations in the UK and overseas Support the EaPW QMS framework, ensuring robust governance across procurement, engineering, supply chain, and operations Uphold explosives and weapons safety through regular audits, compliance checks, and continuous improvement projects Deliver specialist EaPW training to ensure personnel are fully qualified for explosives, firearms, and weapons activities Review and approve documents and processes involving explosives and weapons in line with Air Sector standards Support as Subject Matter Specialist for WOME facility design and build reviews, providing experienced guidance in the UK and abroad Your skills and experiences Essentials: The ability to research and interpret regulatory publications and procedures Communicate effectively within the Company, Customer and third party environments Experience/understanding to apply assurance towards regulations Minimum of a recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC level in Engineering or equivalent experience Desirables: Broad knowledge of military regulatory requirements within the explosives and weapons industry Benefits As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive. The Support and Services Function team: Your role lies within the Air Sector AIR-OPS and will be responsible for the promotion of a total safety culture and raising the awareness, in relation to ordnance, munitions and explosives (OME) throughout Air Sector, its suppliers and subcontractors. This role will provide you with the opportunity to join a growing team and come in to make a meaningful change to policies and procedures and further refine the team's operations. You will be liaising with a variety of high level internal and external stakeholders and engaging with other key exciting parts of the business.
