Kinderview nursery Glossop are looking for a Senior Early Years Practitioner to work within our special team of highly dedicated and motivated practitioners.
The nursery owners/managers are extremely supportive and very experienced. One is a qualified teacher and has worked in education for over 25 years. The other an Early Years Teacher who has worked in early years education for over 35 years.
The nursery is based on a school site with excellent outdoor provision and extremely well resourced continuous provision in all 4 playrooms. There is a big emphasis on outdoor play including an onsite Forest School run by a highly experienced Forest School Teacher.
We are seeking someone that is looking to progress their career and take on a senior role within a well established friendly and committed team.
You should have at least 5 years experience of working within an early years setting, have a track record of continuous professional development, be ambitious and most importantly put children at the heart of everything you do.
The nursery offers career progression, training and support to ensure staff members can fulfill their duties to the best of their abilities.
The post may include a SENDCo role if this is of particular interest to the right candidate.
The post is full time Monday to Friday

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Educated to Level 3 Early Years Practitioner standard or higher
  • Paediatric First Aid trained

Responsibilities
  • To ensure a warm, welcoming, safe and attractive environment for the children within the nursery and to ensure provision of high quality integrated care and education for young children.
  • To participate in the work, organisation and development of the nursery, in accordance with the aims of the nursery under the supervision of the nursery owners/managers.
  • To support early years practitioners in delivering high quality learning opportunities for all the children.
  • To supervise and support the staff team, volunteers and students to develop children’s learning, having full regard for their individual social, emotional, physical and intellectual needs.
  • To be a member of the Senior Leadership Team and work alongside our Room Leads and Early Years Teacher to support delivery of the Nurseries Quality Improvement Plan under the supervision of the Deputy Manager and Nursery Owners/Managers
  • To have a clear understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures, and to act appropriately should areas of concern arise, in line with the nurseries policies and procedures.
  • To develop self skills in an area of specialism to support the integrated care and education of children. The area of specialism will be negotiated and agreed with the Nursery Owners.
  • To ensure compliance with policies and practices e.g. OFSTED Standards, health and safety and safeguarding.
  • To carry out supervision sessions and other performance management for apprentice early years practitioners.
  • To ensure monitoring of each child’s progress through keeping appropriate observation and assessment records, as well as health & safety and fire safety records when required.
  • To work in partnership with parents and carers in the care of their children, by encouraging their participation in the nursery.
  • To offer support, advice and guidance to parents and carers when appropriate.
  • To encourage the involvement of the local community.
  • To prepare reports that may be required for internal use and for external agencies, as requested.
  • To liaise with and support other professional staff involved in meeting the needs of the child.
  • To attend and contribute to team meetings, discussions and case conferences as appropriate, and to work with other members of the management team to develop and deliver training sessions for staff members, parents and services users.
  • To keep up to date with current legislation and childcare practice, and attend training as required.
