What will you be doing? The Auditor of State Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is comprised of Forensic Accountants, Investigators and Attorneys as a single source of expertise for investigating fraud in government. Their experience allows them to take a case from an initial complaint through conclusion. The Senior Economic Crimes Counselor will: Serve as Special Prosecutor when requested by county prosecutor, present cases to Grand Juries, prepare discovery, attend pretrial conferences and motions hearings, interview trial witnesses, and prepare case for trial. Provide legal and investigative advice to SIU staff. Review and approve case files. Review and give instructions on complaints received by AOS Fraud Hotline Conduct legal research, analyze audit findings, draft legal memorandum Review and sign subpoenas, review search warrants and affidavits Perform other duties as assigned Why work for the Auditor of State?
