Description The Senior Economic Development Advisor primary responsibilities are to monitor, support and staff up the South Los Angeles Business Source Center, as directed by the Chief Business Development Officer and Director of Economic Development, implementing a performance-based procurement system for the selection of subcontractors, developing, and managing program content and initiatives, and relationships in the community and financial institutions. This part-time position will not go beyond June 30, 2026, and will focus on finding permanent staffing assignments, including a Program Manager for the South LA BusinessSource Center. The Senior Economic Development Advisor ensures the measurement and documentation of the implementation of each initiative to ensure Program Goals and ensure grant requirements are fulfilled. Responsible for assigning goals and benchmarks for each activity and ensuring that all managers and staff members understand their responsibilities and have the training and material support they need. Directs and monitors organization staffing, approves employee recruitment and selection, establishes training protocols, career development opportunities, completes management performance assessments, manages workload planning, implements recognition programs, approves salary actions and disciplinary actions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONIBILITIES Develop and implement workplans and support the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure successful program delivery and contract performance. Initiate, support, and coordinate strategic priorities and goals established in CRCD’s 5-year strategic plan. Plan programs from start to finish, including identifying processes, deadlines, and milestones. Develop and approve operations and budgets. Collaborate with the marketing and communications team and attend community meetings as needed. Manage marketing efforts and implement targeted promotions to retail business owners (E- mail, advertising, and direct mail.) Meeting quantitative program growth goals. Ensuring goals are met including customer satisfaction, safety, quality, and team member performance. Supervise and supports Program Manager Directs and monitors Center staffing, including candidate selection, training, career development, performance assessment, workload planning, recognition, salary actions and disciplinary actions. Train staff and interns to provide high-quality services and effective outreach. Identify needs and lead the development of new tools and materials (i.e., business plan template, flyer design, etc.) Maintain responsibility for appropriate partnerships, strategic alliances and other collaborative efforts undertaken by the organization. Establish & maintain close working relationships with SBA District Office as necessary. Provide general management & administrative support to President, Chief Business Development Officer and Director of Economic Development. Manage and direct the activities of all programs, in accordance with the established philosophy, policies and procedures of the Board of Directors and Funders. Maintain responsibility for South Los Angeles Business Source achieving goals and milestones of each program in the established geographic region. Oversee development of client pipeline and responsible for the ongoing development of client pipeline via established partnerships & other referral sources. Promote a positive, collaborative work environment and culture of accountability. Ensure all clients’ paperwork and data collection is complete, timely, accurate, and current in agency records and electronic database. Define, document, implement, and track program-specific policies, procedures, standards, metrics, and generating reports as required. Develop and plan strategically for future programmatic and service needs and community partnerships. Uphold CRCD’s Mission/Vision and 5 Year Strategic Plan. Support with identifying new office location. Ensure outreach program includes new financial partners and community partners in the new geographic areas. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 5 years of equivalent experience. Able to learn quickly and work effectively with a wide range of communities and with minimal supervision. Experience in coordinating services with outside agencies and with administrative systems & databases. Experience developing relationships with businesses of different scopes and backgrounds. Reliable, flexible team player who works well with minimal supervision, who has a good work ethic, and an ability to set and maintain personal boundaries. Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and to meet deadlines. A high degree of personal and professional integrity: a strong role model for peers. Comfortable in a fast-paced, changing environment; Excellent interpersonal, listening, written and verbal communication skills; Exceptional attention to detail; Knowledge of general business practices; An ability to network and build alliances; Must display professional and appropriate email etiquette; Must display the ability to facilitate small and large groups. REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS 5-7 years of Business Services work experience Reliable transportation: valid driver's license, and car insurance as required by law, as appropriate. 3+ years of supervision experience (Preferably in non-profit and human services) Willingness to travel to schools, businesses, and partner organizations in South Los Angeles and the LA region. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) Proficient written and oral communication skills Ability to work on weekends.
