JOB DESCRIPTION

Light Reading is seeking an Senior Editor to become the publication’s key editorial contact for mobile and 5G business and technology coverage. This person should be one of the top editors in this space - an experienced journalist, with the industry sources, contacts and clip book to match their reputation.
They will be responsible for maintaining relationships with our top customers and service providers, ensuring that Light Reading is leading the industry in its 5G editorial coverage by providing top-notch news analysis, interviews, event hosting and participation, video interviews and social media connections.
The Senior Editor will report indirectly to the Editor-in-Chief and work with Light Reading’s International Editor to maintain the editorial integrity of LightReading.com. This person will help define and oversee the content strategy related to the publication’s coverage of 5G, 6G and advanced wireless networks.

Responsibilities

THE SENIOR EDITOR IS EXPECTED TO ASSUME THE FOLLOWING KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be the industry-facing key contact for 5G and mobile technology editorial coverage.
  • Lead our daily news coverage of the mobile and wireless sectors by producing news analysis that connects with our audience and answers their questions about the technologies they use, the trends that will impact their jobs, and the companies they work with.
  • Stay visible and accessible to top executives via written and video interviews, conference attendance and other outreach.
  • Collaborate constantly with editorial colleagues to ensure 5G, 6G and related issues are well understood and adequately represented in all of Light Reading’s editorial coverage.
  • Manage the process of ensuring we have adequate content for Light Reading’s various mobile and 5G-related newsletters.
  • Stay on top of how coverage is tracking with the audience, paying attention to trends in site traffic, page views, engagement and registrations.
  • Contribute and execute ideas for audience development; find ways to connect with our wireless and mobile tech readers, helping bring new audiences to sites and newsletters.

THE SALARY RANGE FOR THIS ROLE IS $90K TO 125K BASED ON EXPERIENCE.
