Apple’s Health team is looking for an experienced editor to join a growing creative team and work alongside clinical experts and world-class technologists to reimagine how people understand their health and wellness. Use your skills and passion for creating accurate and compelling health information to help Apple’s customers live a better day and a healthier life. A successful candidate has an innate creative spirit, a background in consumer-facing health reporting, and is a detail-oriented, strategic thinker and skilled communicator used to working with highly collaborative teams. This is a site-based role. DESCRIPTION The senior editor helps develop, assign, edit, and sometimes write content across multiple media types and covering a spectrum of health topics. In this role, you will be responsible for creating articles and other content that maintains a consistency of voice and tone, medical accuracy, and delivers information in unique and compelling ways. • Support the content team’s editorial leaders with planning and managing an editorial calendar • Assist in managing writers and coordinating article and script-writing assignments • Do daily hands-on editing of a variety of written materials, reviewing for clarity, voice, and style, monitoring citations, and vetting grammar, spelling, and other formatting fixes • Help to write original content across a variety of formats, including articles, display copy (headlines, pull quotes, etc.), infographics, and more • Collaborate with the greater creative team, including design and video, in the development and execution of all content experiences • Work closely with the clinical team, leading fact-gathering conversations, collecting research, and confirming information • Partner with copy editors and other content reviewers in the copy workflow • Help create and maintain key supporting documents, including style guides MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS At least 8 years experience as a content writer and editor, covering health and wellness topics at a consumer-facing publication or brand A background in working with medical experts and sources and versed in the legal-vetting process of content Experience producing and editing content in a digital content management system Strong communication skills and comfortable handling confidential information At ease working in a fast-paced environment, overseeing various projects and meeting set deadlines A deep passion for health PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Ready to work with highly collaborative team in an iterative design process, inspired by group critique Open-minded about a diverse array of feedback and able to synthesize it to get to the best answer to a problem Eager to look for new ways to tell stories and use the totality of media, beyond words, to present information A love for Apple, its products, and its customers
