Description

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Experience with schematic capture and printed wiring board layout for digital/analog mixed signal electrical circuit designs
  • Experience with MIL-STD-810 and/or DO-160 environmental requirements or equivalent
  • Experience with electronic product packaging requirements

QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER:

  • Experience with Design to Cost (DTC+), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT), and compliance with MIL-STD-810 (environmental), MIL-STD-461 (EMI), and MIL-HDBK-217F (reliability).
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), bid and proposal processes, and Agile methodologies (JIRA).
  • Expertise in PCIe, Ethernet standards (10GBase-KR, 1/10Gb UTP, etc.), and communication buses like 1553, ARINC 429, RS-422, RS-232, and RS-485.
  • Knowledge of ANSI/VITA VPX and VNX standards (42.0, 46.0, 48.0, etc.) and avionics-related standards such as RTCA DO-160, DO-248, DO-178, SAE ARP4754A, and ARP4761.
  • Experience with clock trees, spread spectrum clocking, DC/DC power supplies (Buck/Boost, LDOs), amplification stages, and filter circuits.

The Mission Hardware team is seeking a determined and passionate Senior Electrical Design Engineer specializing in digital and high-speed processing designs that will be responsible for developing technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems related to the entire product life cycle, including proposal, design, manufacture, integration, test, and transition to production of various types of military ruggedized electronic equipment. We are looking for candidates willing to collaborate, innovate, and team with our engineers to generate and utilize today’s cutting-edge technology to design digital electronics circuits that implement video and digital signal processing, high-speed digital electronics, and configurable logic. The candidate will work with minimal direction or supervision while exercising considerable latitude in determining the technical objectives of the assignment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Design, analysis, simulation, test, and integration of digital electronic modules and/or circuit card assemblies (CCAs)
  • Circuit card design including hardware designs with processors, FPGAs, memory, power regulators, and industry interfaces, such as: PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, QSPI, JTAG, and UART.
  • Requirements capture management and verification for small to medium electronic packaging circuit cards.
  • Prepare and present project technical information to peers and internal/external customers
  • Identify and address project problems (Root Cause) and recommend resolutions (Corrective Actions) to ensure the successful completion of projects
  • Design tools experience with requirements capture, schematic capture, signal integrity and timing analysis (ex. DxDesigner, DOORS, and Hyperlynx) with digital/analog mixed signal electrical circuit designs for military applications
  • Create Printed Wiring Board layouts
  • Facilitates project tasks between cross-functional integrated product teams to ensure alignment with overall project objectives and team collaboration
  • Perform hardware requirements decomposition, creation, tracing, and validation.
