81293 - SENIOR ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

This Senior Electrical Design Engineer position will report to the Principal Electrical Design Engineer and will work within UKPN Services based in our London office. You will be a permanent employee.
You will attract a salary of £80,574.00 and a bonus of 3%. This role can also offer blended working after probationary period (6 months) - 3 days in the office and 2 remote

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree level or equivalent in engineering or science
  • Experience in development of concept and detailed primary and secondary designs up to 132kV
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards achieving Chartership
  • Membership of a professional body such as the IET
  • Knowledge of Power distribution, Electrification, SCADA, and Communication systems
  • Basic knowledge of project management

HEALTH AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

  • Ensure all Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements are considered.
  • Ensure safe working methods and systems are followed in the design
  • Fulfil all UKPNS Health and Safety requirements.
  • Mentor junior staff in all matters relating to Health & Safety aligned with their role.
  • Creating a safe working environment for all staff and contractors supporting the business.

Typical accountabilities for the Senior Electrical Design Engineer will include:

  • Develop, and checking the delivery of designs across the UKPN Services business that that deliver Good Industry Practice
  • Provide technical input to the team and into UKPN Services bids
  • Ensure that design solutions are robust to meet client specifications and allow accurate tender submissions to be developed
  • Assess cost/benefit trade-off of technical solution and support the technical decision making processes
  • Identify areas for technological advancement whilst maintaining excellent engineering standard
Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

You will report to the Principal Electrical Design Engineer. You will work as part of a diverse team, providing design technical excellence across the UKPN Services contracts portfolio to place UK Power Networks Services in the top tier for design and build of private assets on safety, customer service and efficiency.
You will be responsibility for the successful production and checking of designs. You will ensure that UKPN Services produce high quality design solutions that comply with relevant legislation, client and UKPN Services standards.
You will provide technical liaison with suppliers, and clients for creating new business and the delivery of projects.
