The Senior Electrical Designer will be based out of our Vancouver Office and will be responsible for modelling electrical systems (in AutoCAD and/or Revit) for commercial and institutional building projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop electrical building design for small and large projects with minimum supervision from project manager
  • Coordinate electrical design work with architectural and interior design teams.
  • Collaborate with sub-consultants and contractors
  • Ensuring design conforms with all applicable codes and standards
  • Being able to take electrical design from concept stage to building permit with minimum supervision
  • Good experience in electrical distribution design, ability to develop single line diagram and service rooms layout while meeting codes and requirements
  • Familiar with utilities requirements, standards for service upgrades, new service request
  • Experienced in developing assessments and schematic reports
  • Provides mentorship to junior and intermediate designers
  • Familiar with construction administration responsibilities and able to prepare SI, CCN, shop drawings review and progress claim reviews
  • Attending site meetings, reviews and complete with reports
  • Manage work stress and work well under pressure
  • Team player with good technical skills
  • Well organized and good with setting up schedule and priority list

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Electrical designer with minimum of 6-8 years of experience in the engineering consulting industry in a building engineering group. Electrical engineering education is a great asset but not a requirements
  • Familiar with building codes, electrical code, fire alarm standards, ASHRAE and LEED requirements
  • Familiar in new development projects and tenant improvement projects
  • Familiar with electrical design requirements for different type of sectors from residential, mixed use, healthcare, institutional to light industrial
  • Familiar Experience with short circuit and fault study software is a great asset
  • Experience with Revit and AutoCAD
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft office applications
  • Ability to communicate, coordinate, and work well with others both internally and externally
  • Can work well as part of a big or small group
    Salary range for this position is $80,000 - 95,000 depending on experience level.
