THE ROLE Join Downer’s Power Projects team as a Senior Electrical Design Drafter and make a significant impact. We’re looking for a passionate individual to join our dynamic Substations & BESS Engineering team in Underdale, Adelaide. In this pivotal role, you'll collaborate with seasoned engineers to create exceptional substation design documentation that drives both transmission and distribution projects forward. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping the future of sustainable infrastructure, ensuring that our design outputs are not only accurate and compliant but also aligned with our mission to support a greener tomorrow. Some of the key responsibilities include: Produce detailed secondary system design drawings including schematics, SLDs, logic diagrams and panel layouts. Develop and manage drawing registers, cable schedules and design documentation. Support engineers in delivering compliant substation and BESS design packages. Ensure QA processes and drawing checks are followed and maintained. Contribute to continuous improvement and efficient drafting workflows. ABOUT YOU You’re a technically capable and detail-oriented electrical drafter with strong experience in substation secondary systems. You take pride in producing accurate, high-quality drawings and enjoy collaborating with engineering teams to deliver complex energy infrastructure projects. Associate Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification. Extensive experience in substation secondary systems design or similar. Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD or similar CAD platforms. Strong understanding of protection, control, SCADA and AC/DC systems. OUR OFFER A competitive salary along with excellent benefits.
