Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer – Hardware Focus
Location(s): Irvine, CA - Onsite
Compensation: $90,000 – $120,000
About this position:
Advantech is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development and implementation of advanced electrical systems and components. This role involves working on cutting-edge embedded computing, IoT solutions, and industrial automation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles, computing architectures, and hardware design for high performance embedded systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of cutting-edge computer hardware systems, including circuit design, PCB layout, and component selection.
  • Serve as a technical expert, providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on hardware design principles and best practices.
  • Architect and implement complex hardware solutions, ensuring seamless integration with software components and overall system architecture.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and validation of hardware designs, utilizing advanced debugging techniques and tools to identify and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and product managers, to deliver high-quality products.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, particularly in the areas of high-speed signal processing, embedded systems, and power management.
  • Contribute to the development of technical documentation, including schematics, design specifications, and test reports.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure the robustness and reliability of hardware designs.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of hardware development processes and methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree of Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering in a related field is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 7+ years of related experience.
  • Attention to details and ability to perform independently.
