Description

Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Electrical Engineer in the Oil and Gas industry in Calgary, Alberta.
Our client is a Calgary-based EPCM firm, a market leader in oil and gas processing specializing in facilities design, implementation and operational assistance for natural gas, conventional and heavy oil projects. Their clients include several of the largest oil & gas producers in Canada and worldwide, and they are currently executing a wide range of sweet gas, sour gas, conventional oil, heavy oil facility and pipeline projects.

Responsibilities
  • Primary responsibilities include the preparation of key electrical documentation, such as area classifications, fugitive emissions studies, single line diagrams, and load lists. Conduct electrical system studies using SKM and ETAP software, including short circuit calculations, time current coordination, load flow, motor starting, and harmonic analysis
  • Provide electrical input for the detailed scope of work, design basis document, and project execution plan and develop electrical designs for projects or proposals, determining detailed engineering design criteria
  • Analyze designs from vendors or subcontractors providing specific equipment and review work from others to ensure design consistency and integrity throughout the project
  • Verify all discipline deliverables, leading the development of electrical MTOs and labor estimates and contribute electrical input for DBM, detailed scope of work, and PEP, coordinating with all concerned disciplines
  • Prepare engineering man-hour estimates and provide input into project schedules and review and/or create electrical single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Develop and evaluate electrical equipment and construction specifications and Lead engineering for procurement activities, including MRQ/MRP development, technical evaluation/recommendation, and vendor drawing approvals
  • Lead engineering development of Construction Work Package, including project description, construction specifications, IFC drawings, and material lists
  • Provide engineering support during construction, including field engineering, inspection, and special studies
