Description
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will support projects and clients in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities and other similar industrial facilities. You will develop project proposals for new and existing clients in the water, wastewater, and related industries. Project Management You will assist project managers in managing budgets and delivery schedules for electrical design assignments. With an emphasis on motor controls, power distribution, lighting, and communications for new and existing water, wastewater, and industrial projects, you will coordinate various electrical design projects. Interdisciplinary Collaboration You will work with project managers, architects, civil engineers, process-mechanical engineers, HVAC, plumbing, I&C/SCADA, and structural engineers to plan and design electrical systems for new or modified facilities. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in working with protection relays, such as SEL and GE Multilin, along with a strong understanding of the National Electrical Code and applicable state codes. Experience with software tools, including Bluebeam, Microsoft applications, and BIM360, is essential. The candidate should demonstrate a passion for mentoring junior and staff electrical engineers and exhibit flexibility with the ability to travel as needed to support project requirements. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, a related discipline, or equivalent work experience. 10 years of consulting experience in electrical engineering for water, wastewater, and industrial facility electrical design. Registered Professional Engineer (PE). Medium voltage design experience with an understanding of utility standards. You will need to demonstrate proficiency in CAD software (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, etc.), electrical system modeling software (SKM, ETAP, EasyPower), and lighting software (ElumTools, Visual, Dialux). You will need to apply knowledge of relevant codes and standards, as well as establish design criteria, perform design calculations, and develop one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans, and specifications. Construction Support Provide engineering services during construction including reviewing equipment submittals, shop drawings, and responding to contractor RFIs (Requests for Information). You will conduct field inspections, oversee construction projects, identify deviations from design, perform QA/QC on completed work, and monitor safety compliance.
