ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Building Services Engineer to join our on-Site Technical Office team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and supporting the electrical aspects of building services on a major construction project, ensuring technical compliance, quality standards, and smooth execution of installation works in line with project specifications and timelines.
They will coordinate and resolve on-site issues within a multi-discipline project team using their technical capabilities and engineering judgement, applying their skills, or generating innovative solutions as appropriate whilst simultaneously interacting and collaborating with engineers from other disciplines and offices to deliver the project on time and to budget.
They will report directly to the NNEP Engineering Site Technical Office Manager.
This position requires regular attendance at the Client site located in Burghfiled, Berkshire. (Minimum 4 days on site.)
Key Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • A Degree qualified Engineer or demonstrable equivalent underpinning knowledge and understanding and discipline relevant professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years + of relevant experience in electrical building services
  • Experience in a site-based technical office role (Desirable).
  • Strong design experience and understanding of LV distribution, cable containment systems, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm, structured cabling, security systems and associated electrical building services .
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and electrical design tools.
  • Familiarity with international and local standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Good all-round technical design experience using British and international standards and Eurocodes.
  • Good verbal and written communication and technical writing skills.
  • A proactive problem-solving background with proven track record of project delivery.
  • UK National (non-dual citizen).
  • SC Cleared (or willingness and ability to gain SC Clearance)
    Any offer of employment will be strictly subject to the relevant security requirements for the role being met. This means that you will need to have, or be able to obtain, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance and either Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.
