JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading and supervising the on-site execution of all electrical systems in MEP construction projects. This includes managing labor teams, coordinating with subcontractors, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards, and overseeing the testing and commissioning of electrical systems. The role is hands-on and site-focused, ideal for an experienced engineer with strong technical and leadership skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 4–6 years of experience in MEP construction, with a strong focus on site-based electrical works.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems installation, safety practices, and construction standards.
  • Proficient in reading electrical shop drawings and single-line diagrams.
  • Good understanding of relevant standards and codes (e.g., NEC, IEC, NFPA).
  • Strong communication and leadership skills for effective labor supervision and coordination.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; Revit and project scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera or MS Project) are an advantage.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic or other local language skills are a plus.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of BIM coordination is a plus.
  • Certification in electrical safety or construction supervision (e.g., PMP, OSHA) is an advantage.
  • Experience in large-scale residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day electrical site works including installation, testing, and commissioning of power, lighting, earthing, fire alarm, and low current systems.
  • Supervise electrical labor teams and subcontractors to ensure high productivity and work quality.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications; ensure compliance with approved shop drawings and project requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with other MEP disciplines, civil engineers, and consultants to resolve site conflicts or design issues.
  • Monitor material deliveries and usage; ensure materials used on-site match the approved specifications.
  • Conduct daily site inspections to verify progress and workmanship; enforce corrective actions where needed.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate site documentation including daily reports, progress logs, and manpower records.
  • Enforce safety procedures and conduct toolbox talks to ensure all electrical work is carried out safely.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of method statements, risk assessments, and technical submittals.
