SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER – DATA CENTRES - SOUTH DUBLIN

Our client is a leading multi-disciplined engineering consultancy providing design, fire safety and technical services to a range of sectors including; Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, Retail, Residential, Government & Commercial build.
They are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong consultancy background to join their multi-disciplinary MEP team delivering large-scale mission-critical data centre projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for LV electrical design, compliance assurance, and technical coordination across a fast-paced site.
Lead or support the design, review, and coordination of LV electrical systems including:
LV distribution boards and switchgear
UPS systems and associated battery solutions
Diesel generators (coordination and interface design only)
Power factor correction, surge protection, earthing, and bonding
General lighting, emergency lighting, and external lighting
Small power and ELV systems (e.g., access control, CCTV)
Coordinate with HV contractors/vendors for design interface (e.g., AVK, Aggreko)
Prepare and review:
Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
Load schedules
Containment and cable routing layouts
Compliance specifications
Participate in WS4/WS5 validation and ensure technical compliance with BCaR and client specs
Attend weekly site coordination meetings and resolve design queries in real time
Liaise with contractors, the M&E lead, and cross-discipline teams to ensure clean interface design and implementation
Contribute to compliance letters, RFI closeout, and technical documentation
Support end-user acceptance and approval processes
Mentor junior engineers and support continuous improvement in documentation standards
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 6 years’ experience in an electrical design consultancy
Experience with data centres or critical infrastructure projects is required
Deep knowledge of:
LV power distribution
UPS/generator topologies (N, N+1, 2N)
Compliance with BCaR, ET101/ETCI, EN, and IEC standards
Familiar with electrical design tools and workflows:
AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, Dialux, etc.
Zutec or similar for QA (a plus)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Right to work in Ireland (Stamp 4, EU passport, or equivalent)
