Description

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Electrical Engineer opportunity in Ogden, UT.

PER DIEM IS AVAILABLE FOR THOSE WHO QUALIFY.

The Senior Electrical Engineer will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for project’s electrical engineering aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of electrical components and processes. Your recommendations will resolve technical issues and ensure uniquely complex requirements of project’s electrical engineering aspects are met.
The Senior Electrical Engineer, located in Ogden, UT, will prepare designs for electrical systems associated with DOD and USAF projects. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs. This role will specifically support the USAF Sentinel program Engineering and Manufacturing Development(EMD) phase. #LI-SNH

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Level I: Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
  • Level II: Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
  • Relevant experience includes; but is not limited to, drawings, calculations, and specifications for electrical systems and equipment on nuclear or industrial process facilities, data centers, central utility plants, or complex building electrical systems.
  • Possess active security clearance or ability to obtain security clearance.
  • Experience with Microsoft office programs, and other common computer programs.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to utilize engineering and office automation tools effectively.
  • Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards.
  • Broad knowledge of the application of electrical engineering design principles.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems for part of, or all of, the responsibilities listed above.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, systems calculations, equipment sizing and cable sizing.
  • Strong knowledge of power systems load modeling and analysis.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Level I: MS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university with 6-8 years of relevant experience.

Level II: MS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university with 8-11 years of relevant experience.

  • Registered Professional Engineer in USA (Electrical Engineering).
  • Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ISO-9000.
  • Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense.
  • Experience executing engineering design with Smartplant 3D.
  • Experience performing calculations with ETAP.
  • Understanding of mechanical and process engineering discipline drawings and system calculations, as related to electrical design requirements.
  • Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications, or SpecsIntact.
  • Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide.
