About the role AGL’s Engineering renewable and storage portfolio, has an opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer – Gas. Based in Melbourne, you will be joining a high performing team supporting AGL’s Gas assets, partnering closely with site teams to drive asset performance, reliability and compliance across a diverse operational environment. This role supports AGL’s operational renewable assets with technical leadership, asset management expertise while collaborating across Operations, Compliance, Asset leaders and external contractors to ensure the reliability and readiness of assets. What you’ll do: Lead electrical asset performance assessments, investigations and troubleshooting across Gas sites. Develop and maintain asset management strategies aligned to ISO 55000 and business requirements. Provide technical input into capital projects, including scope development, tender evaluations and whole‑of‑life assessments. Support regulatory compliance activities, including responses to NEM requirements and generation licence obligations. Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities that enhance safety, reliability and cost efficiency. What you’ll bring: Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering and Chartered (or eligible) professional status. Technical expertise in generation assets, with understanding of generator primary/secondary systems, GPS and NEM ancillary services. Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and communicate complex technical information clearly. Proven experience in asset lifecycle planning, risk evaluation and problem solving. A self‑starter mindset with leadership capability and experience mentoring or developing junior engineers. Responsibilities
