Description

Piper Companies is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer (High Voltage) for a Clean Energy Technology Company located in Houston, TX. The Senior Electrical Engineer (High Voltage) will play a critical role in integrating the power generation process with industry standard electrical solutions. The Senior Electrical Engineer (High Voltage) will need to sit Hybrid in La Poete, TX.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (HIGH VOLTAGE):

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related field
  • 7+ Years of High Voltage Electrical Engineering Experience
  • Extensive experience in plant wide electrical system one line design, high power, high voltage motors, VFDs, transformers, generators and electrical control systems and modeling
  • Proficiency in CAD tools for one-line and schematic design
  • Expertise in motors, VFDs, transformers, generators, and control systems
  • Experience with electrical testing and modeling tools (ETAP, SKM)
  • Familiarity with NEC, NEMA, NERC, IEEE, ATEX, CE, CSA, ANSI standards
Responsibilities
  • Design and integrate high-voltage electrical systems for Net Power’s plants, including one-line diagrams, transformers, switchgear, and motor control centers
  • Support onsite commissioning, diagnose electrical issues, and optimize system performance at La Porte and Project Permian
  • Specify, procure, and oversee installation of high-power equipment such as motors, VFDs, and transformers
  • Use tools like ETAP or SKM to simulate and analyze electrical system performance and reliability
  • Ensure designs meet industry standards and codes; participate in HAZOP reviews and drive safe, reliable operations
  • Work with internal teams, partners, and contractors to align electrical systems with overall plant requirements and grid interconnect needs
