QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • 5 – 7 years of progressive electrical engineering experience, including involvement across the full product development life cycle
  • Proven skill with electronics lab equipment including complex oscilloscope functions, spectrum analyzer, vector analyzer, optical detectors, RF components and testing
  • Analog Power / Mixed Signal Experience
  • Proficiency with schematic capture
  • Circuit simulation and analysis, PCB layout oversight, bench-level testing and debug of designs
  • Ability to facilitate and coordinate multiple deadlines and respond quickly to management requests
  • Strong interpersonal skills; strong verbal, written, and presentation skills; ability to interact effectively at all levels within the organization
  • Possessing a high sense of discretion and professionalism; highest level of integrity and strong moral character
  • Highly self-aware; recognizes the impact of approach and behaviors on peers, direct reports, and clients
  • Must be proficient in English

Responsibilities
  • Design advanced electrical systems while providing leadership across engineering functions, balancing responsibilities between high-level design, project coordination, and hands-on lab work
  • Report directly to the Director of Engineering, maintaining clear communication on project progress, technical challenges, and resource needs
  • Collaborate closely with software development teams to ensure seamless integration between hardware and embedded software components
  • Contribute to and lead product development throughout the full product life cycle, including requirements definition, creation of the Design Basis document, Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Detailed Design, Critical Design Review (CDR), and transition into production
  • Perform full-cycle electrical design including schematic development, component selection, circuit simulation, and PCB development
  • Provide guidance and direction to the PCB Layout Designer throughout the design process, ensuring best practices and compliance with design requirements
  • Supervise and direct the work of engineering technicians in support of product development, testing, and troubleshooting activities
  • Lead and coordinate electrical aspects of complex engineering projects from concept through production
  • Apply project engineering skills to manage schedules, resources, and deliverables in multi-disciplinary development efforts
  • Provide input and support in overall project planning and execution, including cost estimation, risk assessment, and reporting
  • Develop schematics and component selection for analog, digital, and power systems, including TIA, PA, LNA, high speed LiDAR receivers, laser drivers, motor control, embedded systems, communication systems, DC-DC converters, RF components, A/D converters, D/A converters, level shifters
  • Define and document all characterization, qualification, and production testing of electronic subcomponents
  • Work with Layout Designer for schematic design, PCB design, and component selection
  • Review all schematics and PCB layout designs
  • Hands-on, in-lab troubleshooting of electronic systems and component problems
  • Electrical Harness Design including system block diagrams, wiring diagrams, current capacity, and peak current calculations
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to brainstorm and create new products
  • Manages selection of all subsea and internal cables and connectors
  • Design, develop, document, and test designs
  • Write design documentation, test reports, and other technical documents when appropriate
  • Support manufacturing with handover of new products, and sustainment of existing products including use of our ECO system
  • Maintain/Manage list of non-conforming issues
  • Work closely with mechanical engineering for first-time success of PCB mechanical fit and thermal performance of electrical components
  • Apply systems engineering principles to ensure successful integration of subsystems, including hardware, software, and mechanical components, into a cohesive and functional product
