Job Description Role Summary: The company is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical system design and development across advanced modular programs, including BESS, GenSet-based power systems, and modular data center infrastructure. This role is responsible for electrical architecture, schematic development, and technical execution for complex power and control systems operating across varying voltage levels and power capacities. The Senior Electrical Engineer serves as a technical authority, working closely with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and project teams to ensure designs are safe, scalable, manufacturable, and compliant with applicable standards. This position requires strong experience in power distribution, control systems, and electrical documentation within industrial or energy-focused environments. Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer Department: Engineering Reports to: Mechanical Engineering Manager Role Type: Individual Contributor Job Type: Independent Contractor (Prestación de Servicios Profesionales). This position is a remote role based in Mexico. The engineer will be engaged through Deel under a Contract of Record (COR) model and will not be employed directly by GTI or any U.S. entity. Termination: 2 weeks’ notice. Professional Fees: $41,280 USD - $61,920 USD per year, based on skills and experience. Monthly honorarium: $3440 to $5160 USD • Compensation will be set and paid through Deel • Pay will follow the COR structure. • Any stated salary ranges are gross amounts, exclusive of Deel fees Weekly working hours: TBD, can be between 6:00 am or 7:00 am EST to 10:00 pm EST. Working days/time of the week: Monday to Friday, possible Saturdays based on company needs. Qualifications Worksite: Candidates must reside in Mexico and must already be authorized to work in Mexico. Confidentiality: Intellectual Property, Confidentiality & Data Security Candidates will be required to sign confidentiality and IP-related agreements Work will involve access to proprietary designs and information Secure remote work practices are expected Additional Information Electrical System Design & Architecture • Lead electrical system design for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), generator systems, and modular data center power infrastructure • Develop electrical architectures supporting varying levels of power generation, storage, and distribution • Design AC and DC power systems, including low-voltage and medium-voltage applications as required by project scope • Define system-level power distribution, protection, grounding, and control strategies Schematic Development & Documentation • Create and maintain detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and single-line diagrams using SolidWorks Electrical or equivalent • Develop panel layouts, cable schedules, and interconnection diagrams • Ensure electrical documentation is complete, accurate, and production-ready • Maintain revision control and support engineering change management BESS, GenSet & Power Integration • Design electrical systems integrating battery systems, inverters, transformers, generators, switchgear, and protection devices • Support parallel operation, load sharing, and backup power configurations • Design control and monitoring interfaces between power systems and control platforms • Support integration of power generation and storage systems into modular enclosures Modular Data Center Electrical Design • Support electrical design for modular data center infrastructure including power distribution units (PDUs), UPS systems, generators, and switchgear • Design redundant and fault-tolerant power architectures (e.g., N+1, 2N) • Support integration of cooling, monitoring, and control systems from an electrical perspective Cross-Functional Engineering Support • Partner with Mechanical Engineering to ensure electrical designs integrate with enclosures, thermal systems, and physical layouts • Support Manufacturing Engineering with design-for-manufacturability and build strategy input • Provide technical guidance to production teams during build, test, and integration • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis during prototype builds and production Compliance, Standards & Safety • Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical codes and standards such as NEC, UL, IEC, and project-specific requirements • Support UL-listed and customer-certified system designs • Apply safety best practices in power system design and documentation Project & Technical Leadership • Serve as a technical lead on assigned programs • Support project planning, technical risk identification, and issue resolution • Mentor junior engineers and designers as needed Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline • 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering roles within industrial, energy, or infrastructure environments • Strong experience designing power systems across varying voltage and power levels • Proven experience developing electrical schematics and documentation • Experience with power generation, energy storage, or critical power infrastructure • Strong understanding of AC/DC power systems, protection, and controls Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) • Experience with generator systems, paralleling switchgear, and backup power architectures • Experience supporting modular data centers or mission-critical infrastructure • Proficiency with SolidWorks Electrical • Experience supporting UL-listed or code-compliant system designs • Prior experience in modular, containerized, or engineered-to-order manufacturing environments
