The Opportunity - Senior Electrical Engineer - Risk and Functional Safety Advitech’s Risk and Functional Safety team is continuing to grow to support our increasing workload. We’re looking for an adaptable, pragmatic Functional Safety Engineer who can confidently navigate both technical and commercial challenges. If you have experience in functional safety and risk management — great. If you come from an electrical, instrumentation, automation or control systems background and have some exposure to risk or functional safety—and want to deepen your expertise—we’d love to hear from you too. We will support you in obtaining a Functional Safety certification if needed. This role suits someone who is analytical but not bogged down by unnecessary complexity, enjoys variety, and thrives when working across diverse industries. Key Responsibilities - What you'll be doing Completing risk and functional safety analysis across an extensive range of clients and industries Contributing specialist engineering knowledge and experience to multidisciplinary projects Helping expand Advitech’s involvement in renewable energy and emerging climate technologies Coordinating project scopes of works, budgets, schedules and deliverables Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients To be successful in this role, you will meet the following essential criteria: Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering, recognised by Engineers Australia Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), or eligibility to obtain Experience across across a diverse range of technical challenges and applications, with possible examples including: · Process control/automation · Renewable energy · Remote area power systems · Data collection and analysis Self-motivated with a strong desire and ability to acquire technical and business knowledge/skills Demonstrated high level technical report writing skills Current unrestricted drivers licence (motor vehicle) Electrical Engineers meeting the following desirable criteria will be highly regarded: TÜV or equivalent qualification in Functional Safety Experience auditing electrical equipment or systems against machinery or electrical safety standards. Experience in risk management and/or engineering design Experience with design, maintenance or operation of industrial control systems, machinery, mining, or processing plant About the Position Position Type: Permanent - Full Time or Part Time – you decide!
