Description
Skillforce is currently hiring an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer for mission critical projects in the Omaha, NE and Council Bluffs, IA area. This is a full-time, direct hire position with one of the largest general contractors in the US. Will need to be local to Omaha/Council Bluffs area with local travel. Position Details: * Location: Omaha, NE/Council Bluffs, IA and surrounding cities * Start Date: ASAP * Duration: Long term, direct placement * Pay: Up to $130k  Responsibilities: * Perform and oversee mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities. * Develop and review M/E budget estimates based on design and program data. * Analyze systems, recommend cost-effective solutions, and provide value engineering input. * Coordinate M/E scopes of work during preconstruction and the bid process. * Review design documents for quality and constructability; assist in developing quality control procedures. * Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and standards. * Oversee commissioning activities, including checklists, functional testing, and documentation. * Review and approve shop drawings and submittals. * Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers and promote best practices in M/E coordination. * Support a safe, inclusive, and collaborative work environment. Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering (required). * 5+ years of construction and/or engineering experience (preferred). * Strong communication and organizational skills. * Proficiency in MS Office and ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications. * Knowledge of construction means and methods. * Ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines and teams.
