Your Responsibilities Working with a multi-discipline group of engineers and technicians providing lead electrical engineering services to public and private sector clients including supervision of a project team, design work, field work and project management activities. Providing lead electrical engineering support for development of new hydroelectric projects and rehabilitation of existing hydroelectric facilities including: control systems for water control structures such as dams, spillways, intakes and outlets, pipelines, penstocks; generators and excitation systems; generator auxiliary systems; generator buses; generator circuit breakers; unit step-up transformers; power plant high voltage switchyards; balance of plant electrical systems such as medium and low voltage switchgear, motor control centers, DC battery systems, backup generators, etc.; protection and control systems; and grounding and lighting systems. Oversee the preparation load flow and short circuit studies for electrical power systems for hydroelectric generating plant and high voltage substations using ETAP, SKM, and EasyPower software. Design review electromechanical and microprocessor-based relay protection systems for hydro-generation equipment. Design review of PLC based control systems for control and monitoring of major industrial equipment and facilities. Existing facility electrical infrastructure and equipment assessment for development of reports outlining recommendations for rehabilitation and improvements. Support proposal development and other business development activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all company, Federal, and project site policies and procedures. Follow Stantec and client safe work practices and adhere to all company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
Responsibilities
The Senior Electrical Engineer will provide lead electrical engineering services for hydroelectric projects, including design work, field work, and project management activities. Responsibilities also include overseeing the preparation of load flow and short circuit studies and supporting business development activities.
