Responsibilities

As part of this role, you will take the lead in campus-wide electrical maintenance, infrastructure, and dynamic projects and ensure the Estate’s electrical assets operate at peak performance. Design innovative electrical solutions for the University and review external consultants’ and contractors’ electrical specifications to guarantee the highest standards.
You will drive the creation of detailed specifications and tender documents for maintenance programs, appoint competent contractors, oversee their work, and certify accounts as needed. Collaborate closely with Engineering and Capital Projects, offering expert technical advice and providing insights into design proposals for both minor and major alterations — always keeping future maintenance in mind.
Stay ahead of the curve by advising senior figures on legislative changes that may impact the management of University building services. Own the responsibility for selected electrical systems within your expertise, ensuring compliance and operational excellence. Additionally, take charge of reviewing and updating the Electrical Condition Survey data, integrating it into maintenance programs for seamless, proactive asset management.
