Job Description AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer to join our growing team in Philadelphia, PA to support water and wastewater projects in the greater Philadelphia Area, the Northeast, and around the globe. We are looking for an electrical engineer with strong design and construction phase support skills to work with closely with our electrical team in our Chelmsford, Massachusetts design center on complex multidisciplinary projects. This position will provide a great opportunity to collaborate with some of AECOM’s foremost experts in water and wastewater engineering as well as electrical and I&C engineering. The work will include: Design low voltage and medium voltage electrical distribution systems and building services. Perform electrical system designs including switchgears, switchboards, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, generators, transformers, distribution panels, and other electrical distribution systems components. Perform design for lighting, fire alarm, telephone, security and grounding systems. Prepare design drawings including single line diagrams, electrical plans, wiring schematics, schedules, etc. Perform electrical system calculations using power analytical software packages (Ex. SKM, EDSA, and Easy Power). Perform electrical system studies and calculations (load, harmonics, voltage drop, lighting, short circuit, coordination and arc flash). Review and coordinate instrumentation, control system process P&IDs, mechanical and HVAC systems and design its related electrical systems. Develop electrical equipment specifications. Verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards/practices. Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed. Qualifications Minimum Requirements BS/BA Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Professional Engineer (PE) in Pennsylvania, Delaware, or New Jersey or ability to obtain within 1 year. Experience designing low voltage and medium voltage electrical distribution systems and building services for water and wastewater facilities. Experience designing lighting, fire alarm, telephone, security and grounding systems. Preferred Qualifications 8+ years of work experience as an Electrical Engineer. Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit. Strong knowledge of electrical design codes and standards. Strong communication skills. Strong commitment to ensuring safe project execution. Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods. Self-starter and ability to take initiative. Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to work well in a team environment.
