Job Description This position is within the Current Product Engineering team at XP Power. Successful candidate will be responsible for proposal and implementation of design improvements for our power delivery products that include AC/DC, DC/DC, high power, low power, high voltage, and low voltage switch mode power supplies. Key Responsibilities Propose and implement design improvements for AC/DC, DC/DC switch mode power supplies utilizing various topologies across power and voltage ranges. Ensure products continue to meet performance specifications, delivery schedules, cost & reliability targets as they continue through the volume production lifecycle. Collaborate with the cross-functional team (PCB layout, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Test and Quality Engineering) to ensure that design meets all DfX requirements. Select raw materials, components, and suppliers based on product performance specifications, reliability and regulatory requirements. Participate in internal design reviews. Perform circuit simulations, DFMEA, component stress analysis, reliability prediction calculations, Design Verification Testing and write technical reports. Prepare documentation for product requalification. Support RMA group with root causes analysis. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum of 6 years of related working experience. 10-12 years of work experience preferred. Experience in mixed signal circuit design, simulations, and test of power electronics. Working knowledge of power conversion principles, topologies, and technologies. Experience designing electronic assemblies and/or power conversion products. RF and High Voltage experience is preferred Ability to execute a test independently, from setup to result, reporting is necessary Experience in validation with strong debug skills, problem tracking Experience with test data collection and analysis Experience with test plan & test procedure development is a plus In depth understanding of control theory. Strong project management experience. Ability to make economic judgments with respect to product cost and manufacturing process. Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills. Excellent mathematical and analytical skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
