Description The Senior Electrical Engineering Technician supports design, assembly, testing, and validation of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs). This role applies advanced troubleshooting skills, interprets complex technical documentation, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reliability, manufacturability, and efficiency. Strong understanding of electronic theory, circuits, and PCB/PCBA assembly (SMT, through-hole, mixed technology). Proficiency in using diagnostic and test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, etc). Ability to troubleshoot to component level and perform root cause analysis. Ability to read and interpret complex schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings. Familiarity with IPC standards and general electronics manufacturing quality practices. Basic knowledge of ISO9001 quality systems and documentation requirements. Proficiency with hand tools, soldering equipment, and precision instruments to perform rework and repairs to meet high-reliability workmanship standards. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to analyze data and apply basic math and reasoning to problem-solving. Ability to multitask and prioritize projects. Ability to legally drive a vehicle and travel as required. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain system logs or manuals to document testing or operation of equipment. Ensure documentation aligns with ISO9001 requirements and supports full traceability and audit readiness. Set up and operate specialized or standard test equipment to diagnose, test, or analyze the performance of electronic components, assemblies, or systems. Replace defective components or parts, using hand tools and precision instruments. Together with Quality Engineer, perform root cause analysis on failures and implement corrective actions to improve first-pass yield. Integrate software or hardware components, using computer, microprocessor, or control architecture. Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components. Review electrical engineering plans to ensure adherence to design specifications and compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards. Flag design or process risks and collaborate with engineering to implement corrective actions. Design or modify engineering schematics for electrical transmission and distribution systems or for electrical installation in residential, commercial, or industrial buildings, using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Assemble, test, or maintain circuitry or electronic components, according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, or knowledge of electronics, using hand or power tools. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, improving throughput, and enhancing overall product quality. Other Duties - Perform other job duties as assigned by Management. Education and Experience Associates degree and ten years related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
