Description
Develop component hardware specifications for body controllers, motors, sensors, and switches that meet the requirements of the electrical system Drive electrical architectural direction and decision-making for body subsystems, performing trade studies to optimize cost and performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver and maintain robust body controls subsystem boundary and block diagrams. Review and approve test plans and results to ensure low voltage interface compatibility and component requirement compliance for body control systems. Develop and mature functional specifications for body controls systems and electronics, ensuring alignment with overall vehicle homologation and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with software integration team to ensure robust body controls performance and functionality across all operating conditions. Own electrical subsystem interface documentation for body controls components, collaborating with hardware and EDS teams to ensure accurate logical and physical implementation and seamless integration Lead and manage integration of initial prototype systems including bring-up, debug, and engineering test of prototype bucks, labcars, and vehicles. Established and active employee resource groups B.S in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience 6+ years of experience working on complex electrical systems or electronics designs Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and ability to apply them to automotive concepts Proven experience developing and integrating body controls hardware components in prototype and production environments Highly skilled in low voltage systems development, electric vehicle system architecture, functional safety, and component level integration planning Experience with requirements capture in requirements management software platforms (JAMA, etc.) Experience with creating and modifying network interface description files Excellent teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills Strong written and verbal communication skills An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team A systems approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement Master's Degree Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related fields Hands-on experience with electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, power supplies, etc.) Experience with body controls feature development and integration from concept through production launch Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) Experience with electrical / electro-mechanical devices involving networked microcontrollers and embedded software
