WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced professional with demonstrated ability to work with operational teams providing technical support for instrumentation, controls & electrical (IC&E) equipment, maintenance and fault finding/troubleshooting on complex issues.

You will be degree qualified in electrical instrumentation engineering and eligibility for RPEQ (e.g., Chartered Engineer). Your ability to lead and communicate effectively with experience in mentoring and coaching engineers in a corporate environment is key, along with:

  • Extensive experience in instrumentation, controls, and electrical engineering in an operations support role in oil and gas, petrochemical, or similar industry. Major hazard facility (MHF) experience preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of the relevant technical standards and regulatory framework relating to the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Skilled in integrated control and safety systems (DCS, SIS, PLC) and knowledge in operational technology cyber security.
  • Skilled design verification of process instrumentation, actuated and control valves.
  • Skilled in Electrical Power generation and distribution engineering would be an advantage.

Additional desired qualifications:

  • Function Safety Engineer (TUV).
  • Hazardous Area Certification (AS 60079).

Key accountabilities include:

  • Initiate, support, and review IC&E system changes via Management of Change (MOC); prepare/review related calculations and documents.
  • Support IC&E upgrade projects, including vendor queries, design reviews, and HAZOP.
  • Identify upgrades to address reliability bad actors or obsolete equipment.
  • Review and approve Critical Function Test (CFT) and Safety Function Test (SFT) procedures.
  • Identify IC&E equipment risks; support risk assessments and implement rectification plans.
  • Identify and endorse maintenance strategy optimisation in Reliability Management Plans (RMPs).
  • Review incidents for IC&E equipment reliability risks and improvements.
  • Participate in failure investigations, root cause analyses, audits, and compliance assessments.
  • Manage obsolescence of IC&E equipment.
  • Lead engineering excellence, governance, and safety barrier/performance standards assurance; ensure functional safety and cybersecurity compliance.
  • Collaborate with vendors and consultants for troubleshooting, maintenance, testing, and upgrades

Responsibilities

Working closely with reliability, operations, maintenance, projects, and engineering teams developing and optimising Reliability Maintenance Plans (RMPs) for the LNG Plant. This role is tasked with the safe and reliable operation of instrumentation, controls, and electrical (IC&E) equipment at the GLNG plant and pipelines. Primary focus is instrumentation and controls systems, but electrical remit is also advantageous.
