Job Description What You Will Drive Serve as a Senior Electrical Technician within the Fast Response Crew, ensuring rapid response to electrical emergencies in accordance with tier-based SLA timeframes. Perform immediate electrical isolation using LOTO procedures to secure site safety and prevent electrical hazards. Conduct rapid electrical fault assessments using multimeters, insulation testers, and thermal imaging cameras. Establish electrical safety zones and implement electrical permit-to-work procedures. Carry out comprehensive electrical inspections using specialized diagnostic equipment (insulation resistance testing, earth/ground continuity testing, motor current analysis). Perform circuit breaker testing, protection relay testing, and electrical system load analysis. Identify root causes of electrical failures, including motor failures, cable faults, control system malfunctions, and protection device issues. Document electrical investigation findings with detailed diagrams, test results, and technical reports. Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant codes, standards, and facility requirements. Obtain necessary electrical permits and NOCs for electrical work. Oversee the installation and replacement of motors (LV/MV), motor starters, VFDs, and soft starters. Supervise cable termination, testing, installation of cable tray systems and conduit works, switchgear installation, panel wiring, and control system integration. Coordinate electrical instrumentation activities, including sensor installation and calibration. Conduct pre-commissioning electrical tests (insulation resistance, earth continuity, protection relay testing). Perform motor rotation verification and no‑load/on‑load testing. Oversee electrical system startup and commissioning under required supervision. Compile electrical test certificates and complete commissioning documentation. Qualifications You're a Great Fit if You Have High school diploma/certificate or equivalent qualification. Certification from a vocational or trade school is preferred. Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a similar role. Strong knowledge of installation, maintenance, and fault‑finding on 11kV/6.6kV and 415V/380V systems. Expert knowledge of AC motors, VFDs, soft starters, and motor control centers. Solid understanding of PLC systems, SCADA integration, and motor control circuits. Advanced skills in using electrical testing equipment (megger, multimeter, clamp meter, thermal imaging cameras, earth testers). Strong knowledge of LOTO procedures, electrical isolation, arc flash safety, and confined‑space electrical work. Familiarity with installation and termination of LV/MV cables, cable fault location, and testing. Experience supervising electrical technicians and subcontractors during emergency response and restoration works. Good knowledge of electrical safety standards (IEC, IEEE, and local electrical codes). Familiarity with pre-work risk assessments, permit-to-work (PTW) systems, and emergency response procedures. Must hold a valid UAE driving licence.
