JOB SUMMARY

We are currently looking for a Senior Maintenance Electrician to join our Infrastructure & Laboratory Services function within the Corporate group.
This is a full-time opportunity, on a permanent basis. The role will be based onsite in South Mimms, Hertfordshire. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Our successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Electrical installation or maintenance
  • Must have demonstrated competence in Inspection and Testing and obtained qualification in the Certification of Electrical Installations. The C&G 2391 Award in Inspection and Testing of electrical installations
  • BS7671 qualification to the 18th Edition
  • Significant experience in a Maintenance or Building Services environment within a hospital or research environment or production facility
  • Ability to prioritise work to ensure that the most critical and urgent is dealt with in a timely manner to ensure that the SMS remains safe and functioning

Responsibilities

WHAT’S THE ROLE?

The post will be responsible for providing a specialised electrical service to ensure that the South Mimms Site (SMS) consisting of general and containment laboratories, production filling area, cold rooms and offices functions are maintained in a compliant manner with the relevant legalisation and is part of the Maintenance Team supporting the SMS.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carry out electrical work to support the specialist areas of the SMS to ensure that the Engineering systems are supporting the relevant Divisions in delivering the Agency’s strategic objectives.
  • Carry out Electrical compliance work (periodic inspection and tests/ portable appliance testing) in a manner aligned to meet the current UK legislation.
  • Co-ordinate and complete the planned preventative maintenance programme for the specialist plant and equipment (control panels and switchgear), completing maintenance work orders and making sure the correct maintenance routines are set up and adhered to.
  • Investigate and respond to faults, and unscheduled tasks as they occur, on a priority basis and resolve or propose solutions as to how the fault can be rectified so that the SMS continues to function safely
