Position Summary: The Mechanical Designer/Drafter is responsible for creating blueprints, drawings, and 3D models for manufacturing packages related to HVAC systems and components. This role involves collaborating with the engineering team, developing production and installation manuals, and supporting the creation of accurate documentation for manufacturing and assembly. Key Responsibilities: Create 3D models of HVAC equipment and components. Design sheet metal parts using SolidWorks. Develop manufacturing packages, including shop drawings and assembly instructions. Collaborate with the Engineering team to ensure accurate designs and documentation. Manage, process, and update revisions, drawings, and bills of materials. Describe production and installation methods step-by-step for manuals. Create drawings and instructions for installation and operation manuals. Exhibit mechanical aptitude with abstract thinking and reasoning skills. Qualifications & Requirements: Required: SolidWorks experience. 2D CAD experience. 3+ years of professional work experience as a Designer or similar role. High level of attention to small details. Basic understanding of manufacturing practices and processes. Ability to work well in a team setting. Strong organizational skills. Efficient time management. Must be able to work in both office and shop floor environments, spending considerable time on a computer for design and documentation. Ability to attend manufacturing floor meetings and support light duty work as needed. Preferred: SolidWorks certification. American Design Drafting Association (ADDA) certification. Experience with advanced manufacturing documentation. Key Competencies: Strong communication and collaboration skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities.
