JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you ready to take a leading role in shaping the future of digital controller platforms?
Danfoss Climate Solutions is looking for a Senior Electronics Engineer to drive the development of a new, unified hardware platform for our next generation of energy-efficient controllers for District Energy.
If you’re ready to take on the challenge as our new Senior Electronics Engineer, you will play a key role in leading the full electronics product development lifecycle.

BACKGROUND & SKILLS

We expect you to have strong technical capabilities, solid process understanding, and effective interpersonal skills. You bring a positive, proactive, and hands-on attitude, with a results driven approach to problem solving.
Experience working in an international environment is a plus, as the role involves collaboration across different cultures and disciplines. You should have a comprehensive background in electronics design, including ownership of significant stages in the full product development lifecycle for medium-volume products. Familiarity with embedded programming and microprocessor-based circuit design is essential.

We value individuals who take the initiative, show accountability, and thrive in dynamic, multicultural settings. Therefore, you are:

  • Electronic Engineering or similar, with 5+ years of successful hardware design experience and a broad technical background in digital, analog, RF (868MHz/2.4GHz), and switched-mode power supply development.
  • Skilled in hardware architecture strategy, aligning technical solutions with long-term product roadmaps and business goals.
  • Proficient in Altium Designer and related tools (Altium 365, Nexus, Concord Pro, or Vault), with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); Danish language skills and strong presentation abilities are a plus.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities include shaping and implementing development plans that drive business growth, while maintaining strong alignment with internal teams and external partners.
In this role, you will take the lead in advancing our new controller platform, ensuring it meets the highest standards of quality and reliability. You will also define the strategic direction for future hardware designs and work closely with teams across divisions to unify and future-proof our technology landscape.

Furthermore, you will:

  • Mentor and support local colleagues, fostering their technical growth and development through guidance and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to gather input and define clear, actionable technical requirements that align with project goals.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in your area of specialization (e.g. analog/digital circuit design), serving as the primary interface between the electronics and software teams.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards, including CE, LVD, EMC, RED, while applying functional safety principles in the design and development process.
  • Lead the design, development, and validation of hardware systems for energy meters and electronic controllers, overseeing all phases from schematic design and PCB layout to prototyping, system integration, and comprehensive testing.
